Norway's Princess Martha in exile at Pooks Hill during World War II

Norway’s Crown Princess Martha and her three children lived in exile during World War II at a house in the Pooks Hill area of Bethesda. The location was convenient to Washington and to President Franklin D. Roosevelt, who, the PBS show “Atlantic Crossing” makes abundantly clear, was smitten with the crown princess.
